Westcott 8" Shorty Offset Extension Arm

We've all experienced the circumstance where tilting a softbox or beauty dish is restricted because it hits the stand. Westcott has responded by developing the 8 "Offset Shorty Extension Arm. The Shorty is made of iron and brass, with a 5/8" receiver for the stand and a 5/8" threaded stud for the light or other modification, and may offset a light to the left or right to conceal the stand. It can support equipment weighing up to 17.64 lb. A counterweight like the Westcott HurleyPro weight bag is advised for use while supporting heavy equipment.

A Simple Method for Off-Center Placing Your Light Source 

When a light and modifier must be positioned off-center, the Shorty is a creative option. The Shorty offset arm also gives you the option to conceal a light stand behind a backdrop or set wall while still having the light shining above it.

This sturdy little boom arm, made of iron and brass, has a weight capacity of 17.64 lb. For safe attachment to various supports, it comes with a 5/8" female receiver, a 5/8" male stud with a 1/4" thread, and two options for tension knob holes. We advise utilizing a weight bag (like the Westcott Water Bag) when your lighting equipment is mounted to a light stand to ensure the stability of your apparatus.
