The DJI RS 4 Pro Combo brings stabilization, image transmission, and lens control together in one package. Along with the gimbal, this configuration includes the Ronin Image Transmitter and a Focus Pro Motor, providing additional tools for an integrated camera-control workflow.
- - Carbon fiber axis arms accommodate mainstream mirrorless and cinema camera-and-lens setups with a 4.5kg (10lbs) payload capacity.
- Motor torque is increased by 20% compared with DJI RS 3 Pro, providing more power in reserve once the gimbal is balanced.
Second-generation native vertical shooting lets you change orientation without adding an accessory. Release the horizontal plate and secure it in the vertical position to switch formats. The gimbal must be rebalanced after changing between horizontal and vertical shooting.
- - Dual rolling bearings on the roll axis make adjustments easier.
- Second-generation automated axis locks use smaller gaps to reduce gimbal movement when locked.
A joystick mode switch changes the joystick's function between gimbal movement and lens zoom. Depending on camera and lens compatibility, zoom mode supports Power Zoom with PZ lenses, Clear Image Zoom, and external focus-motor zoom. With two Focus Pro Motors installed, the joystick can adjust zoom while the dial controls focus; the Combo includes one motor. Pairing the system with the Focus Pro Hand Unit and High-Bright Remote Monitor adds remote gimbal and focus control. These remote-control accessories are sold separately.
The RS 4 Pro supports expansion into the DJI Focus Pro system for LiDAR autofocus and subject tracking. With the optional Focus Pro LiDAR and the required Focus Pro Motor, LiDAR focusing uses 76,800 ranging points for subjects within 20 m. Reaching the stated focusing distance requires enabling the touchscreen's 2x zoom display. The next-generation ActiveTrack Pro can maintain a lock on a moving subject, supporting solo camera operation.
For a combined LiDAR and DJI Transmission setup, the optional Focus Pro LiDAR to DJI Transmission Cable Hub allows the RS 4 Pro to power LiDAR and the separately sold DJI Video Transmitter at the same time. This configuration also supports LiDAR Waveform when a DJI Focus Pro Motor is connected.
Battery runtime can reach 13 hours when the gimbal is balanced, level, and stationary, with the battery powering only the gimbal. A full charge takes approximately 1.5 hours when using a charger supporting 24W fast charging. DJI recommends chargers that support QC 2.0 or PD protocols.
The separately sold RS BG70 High-Capacity Battery Grip extends runtime to as much as 29 hours for longer sessions. This figure was measured indoors at 25° C (77° F), with the gimbal balanced, level, and stationary and the grip powering only the gimbal, until the battery reached 3%.
The optional BG70 grip also supplies up to 18 watts to a camera and accessories through its bottom USB-C port. When used to charge mainstream cameras, it supports charging only while the camera is powered off; charging speed depends on the camera's charging protocol.
Integration with DJI Focus Pro, DJI Transmission, and the wider control ecosystem connects stabilization, transmission, monitoring, focusing, and control. RS SDK support enables different handheld configurations, with one or more separately sold accessories required for those shooting setups. The RS 4 Pro also works with previous-generation DJI RS series accessories and most DJI PRO ecosystem products.
- - The RS 4 Pro battery grip is compatible with DJI RS 4 and DJI RS 3 Pro.
- The DJI RS 4 battery grip cannot be used with RS 4 Pro.
